A
safe, clean and dependable place to live is important in feeling good
about oneself and achieving a higher level of self-sufficiency.
Approximately
half of Task’ participants live in consumer run residences called
"lodges". Living in a lodge is a lot like living in an extended
family—four to eight people share expenses, meals, responsibilities, fun
and make decisions in a group. Most of the members of a Lodge work in the
same place and go to work together. The people who live in Lodges are part
of the Lodge Program.
Other Tasks
clients live in their own apartments, with family, or in other group
settings. They receive housing support services where they live from their
Tasks Unlimited coordinator. They are part of Tasks JOB$ Program.
All Tasks clients
work and receive support services around maintaining their work, their
living situation and their mental health. The Lodge and JOB$ programs are
much alike except in where people live.
