Training Programs

All program participants must complete a training program before moving into a lodge or the JOBS program. The training programs focus on helping people with mental illness get their lives back. All programs include mental health support, paid job training and self sufficiency development. Lodge training also prepare program participants for group living in a lodge setting.

Job training programs that include housing in a Tasks Unlimited Lodge:

Lodge Training Program

Men and women receive peer support and training as well as the assistance of skilled mental health professionals in order to build up a satisfactory level of peer and self-sufficiency for living in a Tasks Unlimited lodge.

Interlachen Training Lodge

Interlachen Lodge offers men and women the same mental health maintenance and basic living skills training as the traditional Lodge Training Program but is designed for people currently involved with the legal system. Tasks Unlimited works with probation officers and the court system to ensure all legal responsibilities are met while providing mental health maintenance training to prevent re-offending.

Oakwood Residence

Oakwood Residence offers women who are involved with Child Protection an opportunity to live successfully with their children and receive training similar to the lodge training program. Additional services include one-on-one parenting support, a parenting support group, and support to connect children to necessary resources (physical health, educational, etc.). The women typically will work towards custody of their children while at Oakwood, and when the mother, Oakwood staff and child protection agree that they are ready, the children move into Oakwood and they live together there as a family. Oakwood provides training and permanent supported housing in the same home so the mother and children do not have to move elsewhere.

Job training that does not include housing:

JOBS Training Program

The JOBS Training Program offers paid, on-the-job training in janitorial services while program participants work on mental health maintenance and daily living skills.
